Pastured Rabbits

We are very proud to offer pasture-raised Californian and New Zealand meat rabbits.  The term "pasture-raised", or alternately "grassfed", means that these rabbits have been raised in field pens, with daily access to fresh grass, sunshine and clear air, as opposed to the standard indoor wire cages.

Our rabbit housing setup has evolved over the passage of time, and this year we'll be trying a new housing setup, featuring both pasture pens and group housing.  This new system is the latest development in our continuing efforts to house our rabbits in a humane, cost efficient, environmentally appropriate way.  Click here for more information about past housing arrangements and this year's plans.

Pasture-Raised Feeder Rabbits

We are pleased to offer top-quality feeder rabbits to reptile keepers, raptor keepers and others in the exotic animal community.  All our feeder rabbits are raised on pasture as described above, which means they are the healthiest, cleanest animals you can buy.  They have extremely high nutritional value, thanks to their diverse diet of pellets, grasses, legumes and forbs.  They are humanely euthanized and frozen prior to delivery.  At present, we can deliver if you are in the Puget Sound region; see our delivery fees in the General Notes below.

General Notes:

  1. WE DO NOT SHIP OUR RABBITS, either live or frozen.  If you live outside the Puget Sound region, we encourage you to search locally for rabbit breeders who can provide for your needs.  If you cannot find a local or regional breeder, we suggest you visit http://www.prma.org/breeder_rabbits.htm for information about commercial breeders near you.
  2.
  3. At present, we do not have breeding stock for sale.
  4.
  5. At present, we cannot sell rabbit meat for human consumption.  Washington state law requires that rabbits be processed at a USDA certified facility before being sold to the public.  We are working to build a USDA certified facility for processing rabbits.  If you have any questions, please contact us via our contact form.

Feeder Rabbit Prices:

We have simplified our pricing table, such that size no longer affects the price.  The only variable is how many bunnies you order.  The more bunnies you order, the less price you pay per pound.

Rabbit Selections from the

Frog Chorus Farm Bookstore

We have done a lot of experimental work with our rabbits, and in many ways we've departed from the norm in terms of how we feed, house and manage our herd.  But we were only able to do that once we learned the basics - what to expect from standard methods and what advantages and disadvantages those methods offered.  We heartily encourage anyone wanting to get into rabbits to read through as many of these books as possible.  You will get a wide variety of information and opinion for What Works.  Only after you have this spectrum of options can you choose those techniques best suited for your particular circumstances.
