Tamworth Swine

We are very pleased to announce our recent acquisition of two young Tamworth pigs. Tamworth pigs are a rare heritage breed from Ireland. They are known for being thrifty, active foragers, which is exactly what we wanted here on the farm. Just as with the cows, the goats, the rabbits and the poultry, we are using the pigs to help us convert our scrubby land into productive meadows

We are in the process of acquiring a boar for our gilts, and we hope to begin breeding this summer. If all moves as planned, we should have Tamworth piglets for sale starting in November or December 2008. Stay tuned for more information!
